The Gulf Stream runs just a few miles off Miami, and Biscayne Bay serves as a nursery that keeps the food chain stacked. Between the diverse habitat and warm weather, Miami is fortunate to host a year round fishery. Sailfish migrate through from October to June, while the mahi-mahi usually take over between June and September. Plenty of species fill the gaps in between. Whatever month you book, there’s something offshore worth chasing.

We have spent the better part of a decade customizing the boat we wanted: a 1972 43′ Hatteras hull, overbuilt with classic lines, fully renovated inside and out and repowered with modern Cummins diesels. How We Fish
The technique depends on the time of year, the conditions, and your preference. Depending on the trip we may kite fish for sailfish, troll for mahi, drop deep for swordfish, live bait for tuna, and bottom fish the reefs and wrecks for snapper and grouper. We stay proactive about how we fish, and most trips involve more than one technique. We run trips almost daily, so we have the reports and knowledge to read the water and best position you for a successful trip.
What that looks like in practice: kite fishing means we hang live baits from a kite so they splash on the surface, which is unique to South Florida and extremely effective for sailfish. Trolling is the process of covering water fast, which we combine with sight fishing to find scattered mahi, wahoo, and tuna. Deep-dropping involves sending a bait to the bottom as deep as 1,800 feet for swordfish. Wreck and reef fishing fills the gaps in between. None of this is guesswork. We watch the sounder, the birds, the temperature breaks, and the way the bait is acting, then fish to what’s actually happening that day. If the morning plan isn’t producing by mid-trip, we change it. That flexibility is the whole point of having an experienced crew that knows this water.
Offshore Trips & Pricing
From a half day on the reef to a full day offshore, we leave the dock ready for anything on all of our trips. When deciding on a trip, the main decision for you to make is this: how much time would you like to spend on the water? More time means more range and more ways to fish. A half day keeps you close, works around a tight schedule, and helps for less experienced groups. A full day lets us chase a bite as it moves through the day and across the tides. All trips include rods, reels, tackle, bait, ice, and licenses. You bring food, drinks, and whatever you want to take home. We clean your catch at the dock. Half Day Miami Fishing Charter
4–5 Hours- Good for tight schedules
- A solid first trip for newer or younger anglers
- The shorter, calmer option if seasickness is a question mark
Half days involve less time on the water, but you can still have plenty of shots at serious fish. From October through June, half days can have great action with most of the best fishing just 3–5 miles out. Sailfish, kingfish, mahi, tuna, wahoo, cobia, amberjack, sharks, and more are all in play on half days. Summer is the one stretch where a half day gets tight if dolphin (mahi) are specifically what you’re after. We have morning, afternoon, and evening slots available depending on the time of year. Choose the trip that fits your schedule best and leave the fishing to us.
3/4 Day Miami Fishing Charter
6–7 Hours- Our most popular trip

This is the middle ground that most groups land on. Usually leaving around 6:30 AM or 1 PM, a ¾ day allows us to dedicate more time to each technique and cover more ground if needed. This trip is a great option year round for just about any species except swordfish.
Full Day Miami Fishing Charter
8–9 Hours- Summer’s best trip for dolphin

A full day lets us follow the fish throughout the day. Offshore, different species may bite at different hours and on different tides depending on their mood. It’s not unusual to raise sailfish in the morning, find some mahi midday, and catch blackfin tuna or drop on wrecks in the afternoon. The extra hours on a full day give us more range and more chances to stay on a bite as it moves or if one technique isn’t working and we need to switch it up. These trips usually leave around 6:30 AM, and sailfish, dolphin, tuna, kingfish, wahoo, snapper, cobia, and grouper are all a possibility.
Extended Full Day
10–11 HoursOur extended full day package offers diehard anglers the opportunity to do some binge fishing. From November to May, we typically kite fish hard while looking to put up numbers on sailfish and enjoy the by-catch that accompanies this technique. During the summer, we usually try for a nice haul of dolphin and may take a few drops for broadbill swordfish. This trip is a great option year round for hardcore anglers who want to get their fix. Expect a tournament style atmosphere as we fish all day while working toward filling the box and putting flags on the outrigger.

Swordfishing Charters
10–11 HoursThe broadbill swordfish is the most challenging fish we target off Miami. The sword grounds sit about 12 miles off Key Biscayne, roughly an hour from the dock, which is why this runs as an extended trip rather than something shorter.
We fish for swords in the daytime, dropping a bait as deep as 1,800 feet to fish holding along the edge of the continental shelf. We have transitioned to daytime swordfishing over the years because we find it far more productive than the old nighttime bite. The technique is unique because we employ electric reels rather than manual tackle, since most of the day is spent dropping a rig to the bottom and bringing it back up between bites. Because of the electric reel component, swordfishing is not for everyone. Compared to hunting, this is more like rifle hunting than archery, with the difficulty not in pointing and aiming but in everything that leads up to that moment. Swordfish are rare, challenging, and will test your patience. You can go hours staring at a rod tip without a bite, and a blank day is always possible. We have daytime swordfishing dialed in and have been doing it for over 10 years. We use the best equipment, have good spots, and know how to fish for these things. That said, we only catch fish on about 70% of our sword trips when we spend the full day doing it, and anyone who claims their catch rate is much higher is likely not being honest. Swordfish are worth the effort and patience as long as you know what you are getting into. When a fish does eat, you are hooked up to one of the hardest-fighting animals in the ocean that can exceed 500 pounds. The fights can be long, and it is a true team effort to get these fish in the boat. Some days produce a fish on the first drop and some days produce nothing, which is the nature of the fishery. We may go from staring at a rod tip for 6 hours to launching harpoons at a 400 lb fish 30 minutes later.
This trip is best for anglers who want to commit a full day to one species and understand the trade-offs. There is very little bycatch on a sword trip, so you are fishing for swordfish, not running a mixed bag. We may catch a pomfret, escolar, or thresher shark on the bottom and sometimes catch mahi in transit, so you aren’t in a swordfish-or-bust situation. That said, it is best to book these trips with the right expectations.

Fishing off Miami Beach, Key Biscayne, & Key Largo
After crossing Biscayne Bay we usually start fishing about 3 miles out, not because it is closer but because the best fishing often occurs from 100 to 300 feet of water between November and May. This proximity allows us to have productive trips, even on half days, where we start fishing while people in a lot of locations would still be running offshore. We clear Coconut Grove and the bottom drops off within a few miles. The reef edge is in 80 to 200 feet and has wrecks scattered along it, with the Gulf Stream typically pushing blue water close to shore. On longer trips we often run north to Miami Beach or south toward Key Largo depending on the conditions. We aren’t trying to save fuel. Our goal is to find the best water and put you on fish.
During summer, fish can still be caught on the edge, but we typically venture further offshore looking for mahi, which is why we prefer 3/4 day or full day trips in the summer rather than half days, but we can accommodate any trip if needed. Either way, Miami has accessible fishing and basically no off-season. Sailfish migrate through during the cooler months, mahi take over during summer, and the reef species hold year round. What you might catch off Miami
The Gulf Stream pushes a deep, fast-moving food chain within a few miles of shore, which makes for a great year round fishery. Most of these species are possible on any trip, and a longer day mainly buys the additional range and more time to work for each species and adapt to the conditions. Mahi is the one species that rewards a longer run in summer (3/4 or full preferred), and swordfish are a specialized trip. Otherwise, what you might catch depends more on the season, the daily conditions, and a bit of luck.

Everything but food and preferred drinks. Rods, tackle, bait, ice, bottled waters, licenses, and more are included. We have a refrigerator for food and a cooler for drinks.

Do I need experience?
None at all. The crew handles the technical side and walks you through everything. First-timers and kids are welcome.
What if the weather's bad?
We will make safety calls depending on the forecast. If we cancel for weather, we will reschedule pending your availability or refund the deposit.
Do we keep what we catch?
Yes, within legal limits and seasons. Some species are catch-and-release or have closed seasons. Any keepers are kept and filleted for you.
